Sesame Street was looking for a 35th anniversary
song, and Bug Music asked me to
write and submit a tune. I submitted Hooray For Sesame Street! Matt Taylor
played all the instruments and recorded it at his home in Brooklyn!
"Hooray for Sesame Street"
I was told Brian Setzer was looking for material
- I wrote License to Thrill!, which I thought was corny and rockin' enough
for him. With Sneaky Pete on vocal. Arrangement by Dan West of Aguafantastica!
"License to Thrill"
"The Outdoors" - a pilot TV show
about a group of sexy hikers, wanted a humorous hoedown-type of theme.
I submitted The Outdoors. That's David Markowitz
from Hill of Beans on fiddle!
"The Outdoors"
I am still trying to get some female country
star to record Double
Cross and take it straight to the top of the charts. It was originally
written for The Geraldine Fibbers. Here is a feisty female vocal version,
recorded by Michele Lawrence.
"Double
Cross"
Harry Connick, Jr. rejected Cosmopolitan
Girl, a hip "swing pop" tune.
"Cosmopolitan Girl"
For "School of Rock" I submitted this song for the final
number that the kids perform - Jack Black rejected it. Lyrics
by Mike White.
"School of Rock"
"Robot Bastard" was the name of
a short comedy film. I just liked the title, so I wrote this theme song,
which was never used.
"Robot Bastard"
This song was inspired by the play Clever by
Eric Meyer, which I co-starred in a 2002 production in NYC. Technically,
this song was used, but only briefly for the curtain call. Lyrics by
Eric Meyer.
"Clever Kids"
I can't remember who was looking for some
'20s-sounding music, but this little instrumental , Nosiree,
is the result. Nevertheless, it wasn't used.
